Your experience begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco or a meeting point near the historic center, depending on the type of service selected.
To coordinate everything correctly, we will need the name and address of your hotel in advance. The tour can usually be arranged in the morning or afternoon, depending on availability and your travel plans.
Visit to the main Square and streets
The tour usually begins near the Main Square of Cusco, also known as the Plaza de Armas. Here, you will also visit main streets.
Visit to Qoricancha Temple
After visiting the historic center, we will continue to Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. This was one of the most sacred and important temples of the Inca Empire.
Inside Qoricancha, you can see the incredible precision of Inca stonework and the contrast between Inca architecture and the colonial Santo Domingo convent built above it. Your guide will explain the spiritual importance of this temple, its connection with the sun, and why Cusco was considered the center of the Inca world.
Visit to Sacsayhuaman
Next, we will travel to the upper part of Cusco to visit Sacsayhuaman, one of the most impressive archaeological sites near the city.
This site is famous for its enormous stone walls, some of which weigh many tons and fit together with incredible precision. From this area, you will also enjoy beautiful panoramic views of Cusco.
Your guide will share the history, theories, and importance of Sacsayhuaman as a ceremonial and strategic site during the Inca period.
Visit to Qenqo
After Sacsayhuaman, we will continue to Qenqo, a ceremonial site known for its carved rock formations, underground spaces, and ritual areas.
This place gives visitors a deeper understanding of Inca spirituality, ceremonies, and the connection between nature and sacred spaces.
Visit to Puka Pukara
The next stop will be Puka Pukara, often described as a military or control site located on the route toward the Sacred Valley.
Its name means “Red Fortress,” and from this place you can appreciate beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Your guide will explain the possible uses of this site and its role in the Inca road system.
Visit to Tambomachay
The final archaeological stop is Tambomachay, a peaceful site associated with water, purification, and Inca ceremonial practices.
Here, you will see stone channels and fountains that continue to show the importance of water in Andean culture. This is a calm and beautiful place to finish the archaeological part of the tour.
Return to Cusco
After visiting Tambomachay, we will return to Cusco. The tour usually ends near the historic center or with drop-off close to your hotel, depending on the service arrangements.
