Itinerary
4:00 a.m. – 4:30 a.m. | Pickup at your hotel in Cusco
We’ll start the day by picking you up from hotels located within Cusco’s historic center. From there, we’ll begin our journey to the community where the experience will take place.
6:30 – 7:00 a.m. | Breakfast
Before reaching the starting point, we’ll enjoy breakfast to start the day with energy as we continue our ascent through the Andean landscapes.
8:30 – 9:00 AM | ATV Base and Safety Briefing
Upon arrival, you’ll receive a brief orientation on how to operate the ATV, safety equipment, and recommendations for navigating the route with confidence. You’ll also have time to practice before starting the tour.
9:00 – 10:00 | ATV Tour
With the guide leading the way, you’ll travel along high-mountain trails surrounded by valleys, Andean communities, and vast natural landscapes. This section shortens part of the traditional hike while adding a unique experience to the tour.
10:00 – 11:00 | Hike to the Lookout Point
After the ATV tour, we’ll continue on foot to Vinicunca’s main viewpoint. The hike is shorter than the classic route, though the altitude makes it advisable to maintain a leisurely pace.
11:00 – 11:40 | Free time at the Mountain of Colors
Enjoy the scenery, take photos, and admire one of the most iconic geological formations in the Peruvian Andes. The guide will provide information about the surroundings and manage the time available at the viewpoint.
11:40 – 12:30 | Return by ATV
We’ll begin the return trip by walking to the parking area and then continue the journey back to the base by ATV.
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM | Lunch
After the activity, we’ll enjoy lunch before beginning the return trip to Cusco.
2:30 PM – 5:30 PM | Return to Cusco
We’ll travel back through the high Andean landscapes once again. The arrival time may vary depending on traffic and road conditions.

Conditions at the Mountain of Colors can change rapidly due to the altitude and weather. Bringing the right gear will allow you to enjoy the experience more comfortably throughout the day.

Most of the route takes place in the high mountains, where low temperatures, strong winds, and sudden changes in weather are common. We recommend dressing in layers and carrying only the essentials in a small backpack so you can move around comfortably.
