Trip snapshot
Your adventure begins at Km 104, the official starting point of the Short Inca Trail. From here, you will hike through lush cloud forest, cross ancient stone paths, and visit the archaeological sites of Chachabamba and Wiñay Wayna, one of the most impressive Inca complexes along the route.
The trail continues toward the famous Sun Gate, or Inti Punku, where you will enjoy your first unforgettable view of Machu Picchu surrounded by mountains and valleys.
After completing the hike, you will spend the night at a designated campsite in the peaceful Andean surroundings. The following morning, you will return to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the ancient citadel before traveling back to Cusco by train.
Day by day route
